What Made the Difference

No single change produced the result. Three decisions did most of the work:

  • Fixing the checkout before buying more traffic. Cutting the checkout from five steps to two and fixing mobile layout problems raised conversion before a single extra pound went into ads.
  • Building SEO into the store structure. New collection pages, unique product descriptions and internal links gave Google clear pages to rank for each product category.
  • Testing creative every month. Meta Ads were judged on revenue, not clicks. Weak ads were paused within days and winning creative was scaled.

Lessons for Your Online Store

If your store gets traffic but sales are flat, start with the basics: page speed on mobile, a short checkout, clear delivery and returns information, and product pages that answer buyers' questions. Paid ads multiply whatever conversion rate you already have, so fix that first. Then build category-level SEO so you are not paying for every visit.
