We're Digital Web Mania, and our AI SEO services help ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews find your business, understand what you do and mention you correctly. It comes inside every SEO retainer we run (from Rs 12,000 a month in India, $800 or $1,600 a month overseas). A one-off AI visibility audit is quoted after we've seen your site.

Ask ChatGPT for a CA in Navrangpura who handles GST for exporters and you get a short paragraph with three or four names in it. No page two. If you aren't in that paragraph, that customer may never hear of you, which is an odd new problem for businesses that spent years fighting for page one of Google.
So what do AI SEO services actually involve? Mostly the SEO basics done with more discipline, plus a few habits that matter more to a machine than to a person. I'll admit the jargon arrived a lot faster than the change itself. The work underneath it is real, though.
What are generative engine optimization and answer engine optimization?
Answer engine optimization (AEO) means writing your pages so a search tool can lift a clean answer straight out of them. Generative engine optimization (GEO) means getting your business named inside the reply that ChatGPT, Gemini or an AI Overview writes on its own. Two labels, one overlapping job, and we run them together.
You'll also hear "ChatGPT SEO" and "LLM SEO". Same family. I don't mind what an agency calls it, as long as they can tell you what they'll change on your site this month.
Classic SEO vs AEO vs GEO: what's the difference?
| Classic SEO | AEO (answer engine optimization) | GEO (generative engine optimization) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where you show up | The blue links and the map pack | Featured snippets, AI Overviews, voice answers | Replies from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot and Google's AI Mode |
| What you're after | A ranking and the click | Being the quoted answer | Being named or linked in the reply |
| Main work | Technical fixes, content, links | Question headings, short direct answers, FAQ schema | Entity clarity, matching listings, mentions on sites AI tools read |
| How it's measured | Rankings, clicks, enquiries | Manual checks (Search Console doesn't split out AI Overviews) | Monthly prompt checks and AI referral visits in GA4 |
| Can anyone guarantee it? | No | No | No |
Look at the last row. Everything above it, we can work on. That row we can't, and anyone who ticks it is guessing with your money.
How do AI tools pick which sources to quote?
They quote pages they can reach, that answer the question plainly, and that other websites back up. The exact weighting is secret and differs from tool to tool, but the pattern we see in testing is steady enough to work with.
First comes retrieval. ChatGPT search leans heavily on Bing's index, Google's AI Overviews come out of Google's own index, and Perplexity runs its own crawler too. A page that isn't indexed can't be quoted. Next, the tool hunts for a passage that answers the question, so a page with an actual price range beats one that says "contact us for a quote" (machines and humans agree on this one). Then it cross-checks. If your website, Google Business Profile, Justdial page and LinkedIn all describe the same business, the model has something solid to repeat. If they contradict each other, it tends to leave you out, or repeats the phone number you stopped using in 2021.
What do our AI SEO services include?
Put simply, we make your business easy for a machine to identify, easy to quote and easy to verify. On a real website that turns into seven pieces of work.
Entity clarity
"Entity" is just the AI's idea of who you are. We write one clear description of the business (what you do, where, for whom, since when), put it on your home and About pages, and add Organization or LocalBusiness schema that links to your real profiles. Dry stuff. It's also why a tool stops confusing you with a similarly named firm in Pune.
Direct answers, FAQs and schema
Each main page gets its question as a heading and the answer in the first sentence or two, with prices, timelines and service areas written as plain text (not locked in a PDF). Then real customer FAQs, with FAQPage schema.
Consistent listings
Name, address and phone get matched across Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Justdial, IndiaMART, Sulekha, Facebook and LinkedIn. Tedious. It's also the fix that most often corrects a wrong AI answer, which is why this work overlaps so much with our local SEO services.
Mentions on sites AI tools read
Ask ChatGPT "who builds Shopify stores in India" and it tends to cite directories, review sites, forum threads and comparison articles more than company homepages. So we find which sites the tools already cite for your kind of business and get you listed there honestly (a complete Clutch profile, say, or an IndiaMART catalogue with real prices). No fake forum accounts, ever.
Bing indexing
Most Indian businesses miss this one, because nobody here thinks about Bing. But ChatGPT search relies heavily on Bing's index, and Microsoft Copilot runs on it. So we verify your site in Bing Webmaster Tools, submit the sitemap, switch on IndexNow where your platform supports it and check the important pages are actually indexed. A surprising number aren't.
Crawl access for AI bots
We read your robots.txt line by line. Search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot (ChatGPT search), PerplexityBot, Bingbot and Googlebot should be let in. Training crawlers like GPTBot and Google-Extended are a separate choice, and for an ordinary business site I'd usually leave them open. (Blocking Google-Extended doesn't take you out of AI Overviews, by the way; those use normal Googlebot.) We also check that a firewall or CDN bot setting isn't quietly turning these crawlers away.
Tracking AI referrals in GA4
We set up a GA4 channel group for visits from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com, copilot.microsoft.com and similar, so AI traffic gets its own line instead of hiding in "referral". One honest limit: clicks from Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode count as ordinary Google organic traffic, and nobody can separate those out for you.
How can you check if ChatGPT mentions your business?
Ask it. Seriously, that's how we start too.
Open ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and an incognito Google tab, then type 10 to 15 questions the way a real customer would: "physiotherapist near Vastrapur open on Sunday", "who builds custom CRMs in India", plus a couple in Guglish. Note who gets named and which websites the tools link to; those links are your list of places to be. Repeat monthly in a Google Sheet, and judge the trend, not one screenshot. Our post on AI search optimisation in India has a 10-point checklist if you'd like to try the basics yourself first.
How long does AI SEO take to work?
Two to four months before AI answers start reflecting the changes, sometimes sooner for a small site with clean basics. Unblocking a crawler or fixing Bing indexing can show results within a few weeks; building a reputation other sites repeat is the slow part.
And if your normal SEO is weak, AI SEO won't paper over it. Most AI tools pull from the same pages that do well in search, so a site Google ignores is usually a site ChatGPT ignores too. That's why we run this inside our SEO services.
How much do AI SEO services cost?
For most businesses, nothing extra. It's included in our SEO retainers from Rs 12,000 a month in India, and overseas clients get it inside SEO Starter at $800 a month or SEO Growth at $1,600 a month (see our pricing page).
Why not sell it separately? Because what helps ChatGPT helps Google too, and two invoices would mean charging you twice for one job. Want just a one-off AI visibility audit, written up with fixes in order? We'll quote that after seeing your site, and your own developer can work from it. If the site itself is the problem, our web design team sits two desks away.
What AI SEO can't do
Nobody can guarantee a citation in ChatGPT, Perplexity or an AI Overview. Not us, not anyone. These tools have no fixed results list, and the same question brings different answers on different days. So I won't promise you'll be named when someone asks for an interior designer in Bodakdev. I can promise the work, done properly every month. And when a tool gets something wrong about you, the fix is correcting the sources it reads, which takes weeks.
How our AI SEO process works
- Prompt test and audit (week 1). We run real customer questions through the main AI tools and record who gets named. Then we check robots.txt, schema and listings, and send a written list of problems, worst first.
- Crawl access and indexing (weeks 1 to 2). Crawlers get unblocked, and the site gets verified in Bing Webmaster Tools and Search Console.
- Entity and schema (weeks 2 to 3). Your business description and schema go onto the home and About pages.
- Answer-first rewrites (months 1 to 2). We start with the 10 to 15 pages that bring in money. Each gets a direct answer at the top and real FAQs, and you approve everything first.
- Listings and mentions (ongoing). Directory cleanup comes first, then the slower job of earning mentions where the tools already look.
- Monthly report. Enquiries first, then AI referral visits from GA4 and the prompt log showing who's being named.
Frequently asked questions
Is AI SEO different from normal SEO?+
Not hugely. I describe it to clients as SEO with a few extra habits. You still need crawlable pages, clear writing and a business people can verify, and then you lean harder on direct answers, schema, matching listings and Bing. If your regular SEO is weak, fix that first, because AI tools mostly pull from pages search engines already trust.
How do I get my business mentioned by ChatGPT?+
You can improve the odds a lot, though nobody can force it. Let OAI-SearchBot and Bingbot crawl your site, get indexed in Bing, answer customer questions plainly and keep your details identical across listings. Then see which sites ChatGPT already cites for your kind of business and get properly listed there. Test monthly with the same questions.
Do I need to pay extra for GEO or AEO services?+
Not with us. It sits inside every SEO retainer, from Rs 12,000 a month in India or $800 a month overseas, because it rests on the same groundwork as normal SEO. The only thing we quote separately is a one-off AI visibility audit, for people who want a written report and plan to make the fixes themselves.
Can you guarantee my business will appear in Google AI Overviews?+
Nope, and be wary of anyone who does. Google decides what goes into an AI Overview, and the sources shift from day to day, even for the same search. What we guarantee is the agreed work done every month and an honest record of where you show up. That's a promise I can actually keep.
Should I block AI bots in robots.txt?+
For most businesses, don't block the search crawlers. Blocking OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot takes you out of those tools' answers entirely. Training crawlers like GPTBot are a separate call; publishers who sell content sometimes block them, which is fair. An ordinary business site that wants customers? Stay readable, and make sure your firewall isn't blocking them behind your back.
Does ChatGPT use Google or Bing for search?+
Mostly Bing, as far as anyone outside OpenAI can tell, along with its own crawler and data partners. That's why we verify every client site in Bing Webmaster Tools and check the important pages are in Bing's index. Plenty of Indian websites have never been looked at in Bing, and they're quietly invisible to ChatGPT search as a result.
How do I track traffic from ChatGPT in Google Analytics?+
Create a custom channel group in GA4 that catches referrals from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai, gemini.google.com, copilot.microsoft.com and similar sites. Many ChatGPT links also carry utm_source=chatgpt.com, which helps. We set this up for every SEO client. Clicks from Google's AI Overviews, though, are counted as normal Google organic traffic and can't be split out.
Is llms.txt worth adding to my website?+
Not yet, in my view. It's a proposed file format that no major AI search tool has committed to reading, so I wouldn't pay anyone extra for one. If your developer wants to add it, it does no harm. Your time is better spent on direct answers, clean listings and Bing indexing, which do get read today.
